Idaho Council of Governments Serving Southwest Idaho (formerly Sage Community Resources) has been serving the ten counties in the Southwest region of Idaho for forty years. As a regional council, the organization serves as an umbrella for a variety of agencies that have a regional focus. Currently, we house the Area Agency on Aging, the Economic Development District Region III, and the Idaho Hunger Task Force. Our organization also supports a variety of partnerships that fit within our overall mission, such as the Woody Biomass Utilization Partnership and the Payette River Scenic Byway.
The Idaho Council of Governments Serving Southwest Idaho is governed by a Board of Directors representing elected officials within each county and has private industry and public utilities represented as well. Each agency has its own advisory council or committee made up of public/private partnerships that help guide each agency’s mission. Each agency maintains a close relationship with its state and federal funding agencies. In addition to public funds, each agency must establish private partnerships, raise additional funds, and promote volunteerism in order to support the programs and services needed for our region.
The Idaho Council of Governments Serving Southwest Idaho has one President who reports directly to the Board. Each agency has a director who reports directly to the President. As a non-profit 501(c)3, the organization submits an annual report and submits to an auditing process.
