The Area Agency on Aging Serving Southwest Idaho is seeking applicants who will serve as advocates for residents in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities in Boise through a new Volunteer Ombudsman Program.
An applicant who successfully completes the training requirement of the program can become a Certified Assistant Ombudsman. These volunteers make regular, unannounced visits to residents living in a long-term care facility. They assist in protecting the rights of these residents and help to ensure a high quality of life. Volunteers work closely with the agency’s full-time Ombudsman and receive on-going support.
